Blues My Only Friend
acrylic on 16x20 canvas
I came here a few years back, hoping to find a place to post
and copyright my poetry.
Well, somewhere along the way
I found so much more.
I have made some wonderful friends here, and to their credit,
I call them poets. I always thought poets were found in old books,
but I was wrong.
If you are new to AP and want to read real poetry, check the favorites
lists of myself, and then the favorites lists of those poets.
I promise you can't go wrong.
We are all merely students of life,
caffiene and nicotine served daily
in the cafeteria of living.
Peace
Richard
From a dear friend,
thank you
"In perwinkle,
the sun sets,
and he never forgets
the sweat of the night,
the moody purple sky
and the way the grass blows
the blues on by"
"Sultry summer harmonica
The slow drizzle of harmony
Blowin in the dying sun
The day's almost done
Blue veils of emotion fall
Descending until
There ain't nothing left
of the sunshine
I got time on my side
I got you as a friend of mine."
