There's nothing left to write after the end of the world.

Poetry used to speak to me like a gust of wind, a flash of lightening, or any other similes you can think up. It used to be about inspiration, pure and unadultered. Now, however, it is feeling much more academic, planned, thoughtful, and I think I enjoy that much more. So read it, if you like, and if you don't then don't. No skin off my nose and I probably wouldn't like you, anyway.

I tend to miss things. I tend to regret things. I love things until I decide not to and I hate things until I decide to love them. I see no grey area. I have few friends and I love them with everything I have until I find out they aren't giving me the same. I live by a high honor code that I tend to hold others to and they tend to break. I'm learning to get past that. Music gives me a headache; nothing's good anymore. The future is entirely unknown to me and it's hard, but I'm learning to trust that it'll be okay even when I know it won't. I love books and dusk but only when I'm by myself. I actually love being by myself because I'm the only one I don't have to impress. And I don't really want to impress all those shallow assholes anyway. So if you're one of them, go away. If you think you're not, you probably are, so leave with them. And if you stay, good luck with my poetry.
~Dani

Sabindi on June 16, 2006Oh Ok Dani, I get you. I guess you could say that my special talent is writing poems about nature, spritual things and colors. Hence my poem for this contest would best suit my nature talent. I do however, try my hand at other talents from time to time, but I do love nature, probably the most. Hugs, sunny smiles and lotsa love. Marilyn

Mozambiquel on June 16, 2006Oh, I do like your poem. The wording does get a bit strange from time to time and I know that it's to fit your rhyme scheme. One of the reasons that I'm not too keen on rhyme. But I like your poem; the originality is killer. I'm just not sure what "talent" you were using for my contest (because you're supposed to have a specific talent, you know).
Thanks for the question; I hope I cleared things up for you.
~Dani
