Poems are the wings I create to be able to ride emotion with freedom and confidence and not crash like a rock thrown from a cliff.

I am a complicated person, but I suppose all of us are, if one bothers to look far enough. I am a chameleon. I have so many faces I am often not sure who I am. I guess I am all of them, and at the same time none of them.

I am in search of something, and I am not sure of what. Ideas? Truth? Wisdom? Purpose? Perhaps all of them, perhaps something else entirely.

At my base, under all of my faces, I am passionate and strong. That passion is often dressed in pretty language and a blasé appearance, but that doesn't change it's nature. I've never had true friends so I am pretty reserved, though I can be very charming when the occasion calls for it.

I am self reliant. Perhaps more than any person should be. Don't get me wrong, I have a good family that I love, but I don't completely trust them and don't always respect them. I often feel that if I don't solve a personal problem without any help, I don't deserve that it be solved. I suppose that is why I spent more of my life then I should have in depression. But I'm not going back there. I hated it.

I dress well and enjoy it. I suppose that beauty is my main goal in life, in all its forms, internal and external. However, I believe I have a different idea of internal beauty then most people. I live for pleasure and derive it from anything I find. I love learning and I am forced to say that I am pretty damn intelligent. I am a very many-sided person. I love mathematics and sciences as much as I love the arts.

In people I value pride, intelligence, curiosity, and ambition.

I love silk scarves, good hand cream and quality electronics. I despise cheep-smelling perfume, old and/or plain lingerie, and bad paper.

I adore pens.

I've been writing poetry since 5th grade, maybe before. I love writing in all its forms, poetry, prose, songs, anything. Perhaps it is one of the few things that will last a lifetime, not many things last a long time with me.

I commend you on your honesty. For I feel that I am cut from the same clothe as you. Searching for a whole to complete the part.

Wow... you remind me so much of myself, it's almost frightening (except for the math and science part... lol... I was always more into history, literature, and some sciences). But truthfully, I loved your introduction to yourself and identified with it immensely.
I'm adding you to my favorites and I'll be back to read more.
