Morning RainShow poetry

My gramma used to tell me "if you loose the path, take off your shoes." Being Cherokee, I always believed her words were a way to connect me to the Earth Mother. As I've gotten older, I have found my own words to add to hers. "All things change with time." Not terribly original, but very true.

In 2001 I was missing my gramma terribly. About the time I began really considering the things my gramma told me about my heritage, a blackberry bush sprouted in the middle of my crape myrtle tree in the front yard. We do not have blackberries near our home. I knew my gramma gave me that bush. My husband said a bird was lucky and ate seeds and pooped them in our tree. I still think it was a gift from gramma.

I also think it was the way Creator chose to tell me I wasn't wasting my time.

I'm sure it's been too long to remember, but I'm back after a long absense and just reading through old friends and favs. You're still very active wow! I've got a lot of reading to do.

Hello I've been browsing poets to see who might be interested in my contest, and your poetry is beautiful! As well as your screen name. The contest is called Four Unique Options... And I'd really like to see if you would want to write something for it! There are lots of options and ways to do stuff, so maybe consider it? Thanks! - Kerri
