I am a poet and a philosopher, a dreamer;
an idealist, but a pessimist.
I am a prince, yet a peasant;
a god, yet gutter-slime;
I am, at once,
an insignificant speck of nothing,
and the entire universe
in all of its cosmic bigness.
I am all — and I am nothing…
And, even so
— though why should one must? —
if such were as it was,
why to act as if not,
though it be to the contrary?…
(And I believe the opposite could be said as well.)
But I’ve said too much…
Like pent-up sexual desire,
held as long as is possible,
to be released in the heat of love,
the words build within
until, unable to be denied,
they splatter across the page
in a fit of orgasmic inspiration…
Oh — the incessancy of it all!…
Bother, anyway…
I know not what…
(and why would I want to…)
This is like that one time —
you know?…
Do you remember?…
That time when?…
No, no —
nevermind…
that never happened…
