Hello, fellow poets, travellers and other lost people. I am Menecairiel, and this is my little World of Poetry.
Right, and quickly the things you need to know about me. I am a 19 year old female student who has been dabbling in poetry a little too long, but I have always enjoyed it.
I try to stay true to myself, and while my poetry is rarely about me personally, or me as a person, I use aspects of my personality in it. I usually use metaphors for feelings I have, quick and childish and sometimes depressive thoughts that end up in your head, or more profound things. I know, shocking.
I also love to write fiction, and sometimes those characters' feelings touch me enough to make me want to write about them. I write a lot on my spare time, usually with CBminstrel, who I have known for years. And since I am not fond of leaking out personally information online, this is about as personally and detailed as this page is likely to get. Apart from odd things, like I find stone angels beautiful, like Catholic churches, love my flat, have a cat...stuff like that. Oh well, that was it.
Oh, except a quick list of bands I like, films, TV shows and books, because somehow it just breaks the ice:

Bands and musicians.

Feel free to message me at all times. I'll answer as soon as I can, and in all honesty...IMs are fun. A pet peeve with me is the one line comments, which I hate. Hate, hate, hate them. Just so you know.
My style varies. I write a lot of freeverse, but I also enjoy rhyme. So here I will experiment, and try to improve my skills. Constructive critisism is therefore always welcome.
Since I study English Language & Literature, I try to be open for most things. I believe that if I can write decent poetry, I might be able to understand more. So...like I mentioned, constructive critistism. I am here to learn, not to get my head ripped off. I'm neither stupid or entirely new to poetry, and I can't stand people who patronize me.
Enjoy my poetry. I try to comment on all those who comment on me. Well, for the most part. I am also a lazy fulltime student with a life...after all.

The holy icons stand above me,
Candle wax dripping with rot; -
They are walking take-away meals,
Bags of blood encased in thin skin; -
Why did the sakura turn ruby with blood?
