Mel-the-BelieverShow poetry

Name's Melissa, I write freestyle, I don't like rhyming. It doesn't work for me. I like to write poems about real things, usually romance is not one of those. I didn't start writing until about a year or so ago, when I really realized that poetry didn't have to be some sort of form. Before that I didn't really like writing poetry because I would sometimes have trouble finding words that rhymed and fit with the poem, now I just write freeverse. I also write a lot of stories, which I'll admit is more of a passion to me than writing poetry. I'm an all American, I support our troops 100%, some issues I get fire up about are abortion(against it), gays(against it), woman's rights(for it), people bashing our troops and President(get really fired up about that), and I'm sure there's others. Favorite classes are History, English, and Government,. I love my school, friends, and family. I'm a strong Christian and hate anything that bashes my God and I don't swear. I enjoy studying my heritage of Irish, English, Welsh, and Dutch. I always find it interesting. I really enjoy listening to music from the sixties and seventies. It might be just 'cause I grew up with my parents always playing the oldies station on the radio. But some of my favorites from that era of music would be Elvis, Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and many, many more. So there's me. In a nutshell, well a small one.

Even though you can't see him, he is there..If you believe in God put this in your profile!

Mark Harris - Find Your Wings
From the album The Line Between The Two

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow

Chorus:
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories

Chorus:

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly

Chorus:

"To pierce a true warrior farther than the flesh,
To pierce into the soul where the mind and heart mesh.
Then only a proclaimed victory sets you apart from the rest;
Murder some may call it, I call it survival at best."-from 'Steady Hand' by Oh Yea it's Ben
