Meggh LotusMayShow poetry

Dedications
To Miriam, to Nannan, to my family and friends, and to anyone else who reads my writing.

My favourite quotes

"Cream-faced Loon!"
Macbeth from The tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare

"Calm down Lemmy!"
Captain Jet Morgan from Journey In To Space (radio program) Charles Chilton

"If you were so full of the urge to write that you
couldn't help it..."
Charles Chilton, when talking about writing jits.

"Every tree and bush became a mass of flame at the touch of this savage, unearthly heat ray."
Richard Burton from Jeff Wane's musical version of The War Of The Worlds

"If anything happens, I'm going to pin you to my back and never let you off!"
Saphira from Eragon by Christopher Paolini

"What's so bad about being drunk?"
"I dunno, you ask a glass of water!"
conversation between Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect, from The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy By Douglas Adams.

"I'd been driving for forty years when I fell asleep at the wheel!"
Jaspa Carrat from an Australian ensurance claims form! (think about it, you have to read that wrong!)

"Fear can, though it is not God, create something from nothing."
Caspar De Aguilar

Things I like:

1. fairies/cherubs/seraphs/angels/pixies/gnomes, that kinda thing.
2. Fluffy things, aka cats and fluffy bunny rabbits. I love their ears awwawwaww. Aww and cats! and guinea pigs! aww! and dogs!
3. Our writing club, it rox! Thanks Mrs Shaw for giving me a boredom free lunchtime, loads of nice people to make friends with and yer, just an opportunity to write, relax, go hyper and have fun... and annoy you!!!
Ok so that was my old writing club. Now I run my own, which is awesome!
4. Nice people, aka my friends in no particular order whatsoever: Andrea, Chaman, Beckles, Alex, Tom, Bob, T, Elina, Emma, Holly, Tatum, Rob.
6. Music. I'm in to all sorts but I either really love or hate artists. The DJs, artists and bands I love are Utada Hikaru, Kate Bush, abba, Panic! at the disco, Green day, Lost prophets, pendulum, scooter, Kelly Clarkson, Sy, Unknown, Scot Brown, too many to name!
6 (ed). Caramel slices! aka millionaire short bread! It's sooooooo gorgeous: a layer of thick biscuit with creamy syruppy caramel on top covered by a layer of gorgeous thick chocolate! I had to have a tooth extracted because I ate too many of them. The curse of the caramel slices!
8. Food! Any food, I don't really mind food I don't like, if that makes any sense!
9. Jumping about, especially on the trampoline. Oh, and I love swimming too!
10. Radio dramas/comedies, that includes English versions of Japanese anime! My favourites are journey in to space, westway health centre, the goon show, ITMA (haha noone will have heard of that), dead ringers, the classic comedy stuff.
10 (ed). Recording people at various speeds and laughing till it hurts, then recording myself laughing. It's hilarious.
12. Reading and creative writing! Rock on!

Things I don't like:
1. Dirt.
2. bad smells.
3. Nettles and all things that sting.
4. Sand and sandpaper, hence why I hate beaches.
4 (ed). Wasting time.
6. boredom.
6 (ed). Nasty people, hippocrytical people and snobs.
8. The way people are labelled according to the music they like. According to these labels, I am an emochav. I don't believe in it.
9. Feeling sick or tired.
10. The way disabled and vulnerable people are judged.
10 (ed). toothache.
12. the cancelation of writing club.
12 (ed). Odd numbers, with the exception of 3, 9 and 27, and the numbers 22 and 26, hence why I have my numbers set out like this.

MEggh

Although my first name's Meggh, my second name isn't LotusMay! However, it sounds pretty cool on a copyright notice so I've put it as my real name. Ok well I can be really hyper when I want! I think I have an old English writing style; I love Shakespeare. Yer yer, you're all rolling your eyes, try reading his sonnets! I'll plug him till the end of the circuit... that doesn't make sense. I love classic comedy: the goons, just a minute, all that lot. I also love sci-fi like H G Wells The War Of The Worlds and Charles Chilton's Journey In To Space. If anyone likes those, please get in touch! I love Pam Ayres too, I went to see her and she was fantastic. My favourite poems are The Battle Of Porterloo by Pam Ayres, and, surprisingly out of an English GCSE anthology: Hurricane Hits England by Grace Nichols. Oh yer, before I go, I think you ought to know our school has the best writing club under the sun. I know I've mentioned it before but it deserves a huge voltage plug.
I'm at a new school now and it's awesome; it's a small boarding school and it's absolutely awesome. Just thought you aught to know!
Keep those big knees bashing together!
