Mallory SnavelyShow poetry

I use poetry as an outlet of my feelings, thoughts, and dreams... It could also be considered my own little form of therapy.

To say something about yourself is to create a lie so that others will not know what truly lies inside.

To be someone is to stand up for that image that you want to people to percieve.

To help someone else is to use that part of yourself that you usually only keep reserved for the selfish things you want to do.

To truly live is to let go of all expectations and just be. To know another person, is to let go of your own thoughts and just listen.

To love another is to share parts of yourself that you would rather not.

3-14-2006 The irony of writing poetry is that sometimes no matter how much emotion is in it, you still can't quite get the feelings out right, it's like you say it in the right way, it sounds good, but the feelings are left linguring. Sometimes a journal is much better suited to certain types of people...

Hey, I always try to repay the compliment when someone takes the time to read my work and comment or critique. It really meant a lot to me today because things are really caving in for me in my life and college has seemed more like a form of purgatory than an educational challenge.lol Seeing that you read, not just one, but several of my poems, really brightened my day. Thankyou. Anyways, the reason I think I need to leave a comment is because I really enjoyed reading your poetry. I'm not just saying that to be polite or to return a favor. Your style flows like the spoken word in a more "real" fashion and your themes express a heartfelt quality that I think is really what makes poetry. Reading through poetry and things on the authors page can kind of relate things together and it brings your related poetry together as a work of art. I'm going to add you to my favorites and I will be spending some time on your lists soon. John
