Hi, I am a Canadian. I am a science jock who discovered his arts side about 5 or 6 years ago. Poetry for me is a release. A method of ridding the mind of circular thought. I am also a lover of Blues music. The music and rhythms of course, but the raw lyrics are the greater attraction.
I hope you like my offerings...feel free to comment.

Judas Denied on August 28, 2004About your comment that went missing off of Pt.3 of your story...it was a spammed comment and was deleted by moderators because of its nature. I just thought to check and see if maybe something like that was the problem. It was. Sorry for the trouble.

Lynxear on February 1, 2004I should have replied to your comment to me a long time ago....sorry but it somehow got lost.
I understand your position...really do! Since posting your comment to me (July 2003) I have been actively trying to get a divorce and then giving up when I realized that my spouse doesn't want one and I am just paying money for nothing. Seems that both parties must agree for it to go forward...it ain't about property/money...she just doesn't want one...So I am twisting in the wind.
Poetry is the release. Some might claim that we are all just exhibitionists but they don't understand the need to express one's thoughts and having them validated through others reading them.
It may be easier for women since usually they have a very close girlfriend to confide in and get support. But it isn't so easy for a man...writing poetry offers that empathy that everyone needs.
You have a great deal of talent, Jen. Your ability to meld photo with verse is very laudable. I take pictures myself but nowhere near with the emotion that you display...wish I could.
We cannot get trapped in our self-examination. There has to be an out. Part of it...nay! most of it comes from self love...seeing that you are a person worth knowing for until you realize this, why should anyone else love you. That is, you will always be suspicious of their attentions. I have gone through this myself. "A Good Read" was a poem written during one turning point in my life...I have had a setback myself with this latest situation. Hopefully, I will see myself in a better light soon.
Thank goodness though there is this platform and thank goodness most of those here are supportive.
Take care..... A Fan.....Jim -
Bigmammajen on July 16, 2003Thank you for that comment......I really appreciate it.
the problem seems to lie in the friends I do have here.....who are tired of reading about my sorrow, and think that just because I post poems about it, that means I have let it overtake my entire life. She is my muse.....thats all there is to it. And so most of my poems are about her right now. They just forget about all that I am doing, school, work, being a single mom.....my grief has not stopped me from living or moving on in the directions that life is handing me....but I guess they just dont understand anyway..
thank you for making my day a little brighter
Jen
