Welcome to my world.
My name is Lauren Amber Rose, and I am a 23 year old transsexual from Mooresville, Indiana. If you have never been to Mooresville you aren't really missing much. It's a small, hateful town full of drama.
Basically, I am on a mission in my life. My mission is simple:
"Open hearts. Change minds." There are a lot of "Closed Hearted" people out there which typically results in a mind that does not allow for acceptance of that which is different. People need to learn that there is no such thing as "sameness" or "identical" between two people. "Uniquity" is the only constant in this world besides change, and there needs to be a drastic change in the perceptions that drive our societies.
I have run into too many people who hate me just because I am trans. If you're going to hate me, shouldn't you at least get to know me first? "Hate" should be caused to go extinct. Quite simply "hate" is based on some kind of fear. If you feel hate for something that means that in some way you are afraid of it, and fear is based on misunderstanding and ignorance. So, if you learn about what you hate, and come to understand it you will defeat hate.
Anyways, I have been on a long vacation from the site, and it's October already. wow! Time does fly when you're not having fun. I have been living in my new place now since July 28th, and though the walls are empty it still radiates with beauty because it is my own, and it's such a cute little place. *smile*
Work wise, I am still employed with Speedway, and I am biding my time as ENDA gets closer and closer to being passed at which point I will no longer be afraid of coming out to my boss, and I will begin progressing through my transition more quickly. For those of you who don't know about ENDA it is the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. It has failed to pass every congress since the 70s, and it has changed over time from being trans-exclusive to being trans-inclusive and it's current form will end employment discrimination against anyone based on sexual orientation, sexual identity, gender identity, and gender expression...if passed. It has the support of President Barack Obama, and currently has 150+ congressional supporters. SO...we'll see.
Well, I guess that's it for now.

Broken-Rickie on June 1I hear you, I hear your voice in the wind it's faint but there, remember me it says from the wind, remember me as i was and as i am now, remember the happiness and not the sorrow, remember the good times and not the bad, look to the future and I will still be there, look to the stars and you will see me, please don't forget about me, I wont I say back as the wind blows around me as if hugging me........ I ponder the possibility of living life like it says but still remembering it....... I wonder if anybody out there is thinking the same thing........ so i reach out to you and extend my had to you my brothers and sisters from around the world..........and if you agree with me post this on your page or send it to someone else and extend your hand to others out there.
Written by a great friend of mine that I was stationed with: I love you Dawson! You my brother and my inspiration!
