Here are some of my favorite authors.

Robert E. Howard - He's the father of modern sword and sorcery fantasy, and the creator of the greatest barbaric heroes of any age.

Edgar Rice Burroughs - The creator of Tarzan and countless other wild, fantastic characters. A true giant in his field and one of my absolute favorites.

It's easy for a young man to swell his chest and claim humility, decree that he follows his own rigid code of chivalry, and lord it over those around him. I don't suppose I'll follow that trend, however appealing it might seem on the surface. I'm a gentleman, sure...most of the time. The rest of my waking hours are spent being a shameless gadabout, a prowling tomcat, and an admitted flirt. My code of honor is strict enough, and my word is unbreakable, but I'm nothing close to a chaste knight. More like a wild-maned barbarian openly seeking my way in this tired world, and I'm always on the lookout for an adventure along the way. Maybe a knight errant with rusted armor, hmm?

Just waiting for the proper excuse to polish it until it flashes like silver and hear my sword sing from it's scabbard with a new cause to uphold, a new reason to fight, and someone to fight for.
