My poetry has been described as free flowing. It rarely has any rhyme and sometimes little reason. I write when I am inspired not on demand. Sometimes someone will ask me to write something for them and it just so happens that I was working on one anyway. Like for Thanksgiving my church asked if I had any poems I could read for the occasion and I had just started one that morning.
I write under the pen name Annie Scott. I began writing at the age of seventeen at the encouragement of my Grandfather Tim Scott, hence the last part of my pen name. He was an actor and had told me that whatever I wanted to do with my life to do it to the best of my ability and he would back me up 100 percent. Grandpa Tim died of cancer before I could tell him I wanted to be a writer. I have been writing ever since. People at high school nicknamed me Annie, which is how I got the first part of my pen name.
I am now a wife and stay home mommy struggling to fulfill my dream of becoming a writer of poetry and Children's Literature. My son is now the inspiration for a lot of my work and the outdoors inspire me too. Family also plays a big role in my inspirations too.
