LilMrsAttitudeShow poetry

My poetry reflects how I feel when I write them. If I'm happy, I usually write romantic poems. If I'm angry, it shows. If I'm sad, I write on depressing topics.

I'm very laid-back. I like trying new things. I write poetry (which I share), short stories (which I don't share because they're about me, and who really cares about that!), and love doodling (although they don't qualify as art).

"I'm a photographer by trade,
a poet by practice,
and a thinker by night."
DJ Bicknell 2005

I'm married to the man of my dreams. We've been together 8 years, and we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in March. We don't have any children, yet, but we want them badly. My hubby and I were high school sweethearts. Everyone thought our relationship was just a fling, but we knew better! "I love you, Babby!" Never doubt young love.

Although my husband and I don't have children yet, I have a menagerie of critters. 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rats, 1 green anole lizard, & 1 snapping turtle. I also try and take in any small stray dog I find wandering! So if you have an animal loose in my neck of the woods, WATCH OUT! I might just gain a new pet! LOL

**********"Life"**********
By Mother Teresa

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is a bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is costly, care for it.
Life is wealth, keep it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is a mystery, know it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it!*

After A While
by Veronica A. Shoffstall

After a while you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning and
company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up
and your eyes open,
with the grace of an adult not the grief of a child.
And you learn to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.
After a while
you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers,
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong,
And you really do have worth.

And here are a few children's poems just for $hit$ and giggles!

Baby Ate a Microchip
by Neal Levin
Baby ate a microchip,
Then grabbed a bottle, took a sip.
He swallowed it and made a beep,
And now he's thinking pretty deep.

He's downloading his ABCs
And calculating 1-2-3s.
He's memorizing useless facts
While doing Daddy's income tax.
He's processing, and now he thrives
On feeding his internal drives.
He's throwing fits, and now he fights
With ruthless bits and toothless bytes.

He must be feeling very smug.
But hold on, Baby caught a bug.
Attempting to reboot in haste,
He accidentally got erased!

Birthday Wish
by Diane ZuHone Shore

When I turned eight I made a wish
I thought was really great.
I wished my birthday came each week-
a year's too long to wait.

Be careful when you make a wish,
it may indeed come true.
Although I'm just in second grade
I'm almost forty-two!

The Dentist Pulled My Tooth Out
by Kenn Nesbitt

The dentist pulled my tooth out,
and he thought it was such fun,
he grabbed his pliers
and dental priers
and pulled another one.

"Yippee! Hooray! What awesome fun!"
he shouted out with glee.
He grinned a grin
then went back in
and pulled out number three.

Then number four and number five
and numbers six and seven
were followed by
a cheerful cry
of "Eight! Nine! Ten! Eleven!"

He took a few more from the top
and some from underneath;
he yanked them fast
until at last
he'd pulled out all my teeth.

Without my teeth I cannot chew;
I just eat soup and mush.
But don't be sad.
I'm kind of glad -
I'll never have to brush!

Hand-Me-Downs
by Bob Zanger

I'm always wearing hand-me-downs.
I don't get stuff that's new.
My mom won't take me shopping.
I don't know what to do.
The dresses always fit me fine,
but high heels give me blisters.
It's not that easy growing up,
a boy with older sisters.
