Every child can master it's sky,
if the sky is the limit.

Come tonight with tales
How war did disappear
And repeat them hundred time
Every time I will let my tear

Vroman (bad translation mine)

14-2-'05 edited some backgrounds and clipped pictures to several poems

A day to be proud 9th of may 2005:
Our daughter got her Bachelor degrees on Bio, Physics and Teaching.

Een Gedicht dat ik via een vriend in Turkye toegestuurd kreeg.

A Turkish poem which a friend of my over there translated.

UÇURTMA

Çocuklarimiz neleri sevmiyorlar ki...
Uçurtmayi seviyorlar söz gelisi,
Bir havalandi mi uçurtmalari
Daha da güzellesiyorlar.
Maviliklerde gözleri
Özgürlügü yasiyorlar
Uçurtmalarla birlikte.

Koparip da iplerini hele
Bir kurtuldular mi ellerinden,
öylesine seviniyorlar ki,
Gidis o gidis,bile bile...

Kizalim mi umursamayislarina?
Kendi yasamlarini izliyorlar boslukta.
Onlar da birer uçurtma degil mi?

Bizim de ne süslü uçurtmalarimiz vardi,
Alip baslarini gitmediler mi?
Gözümüzden bile esirgerdik
Hangi birinin ipi kaldi elimizde?

hereby its translation how many of us don't share these feelings.

KITE

So many things our children love!
They love kites, among others.
Once off their kites are, like a dove,
Their beauty shine beyond words.
Staring the blue of the sky,
They unite with their kites,
Into the freedom, up and high.

And when their kites
Snap their lines
From the tiny hands,
So happy, so very happy they grow,
Though they well know
That the kites are gone,
And never back will they come.

Should we frown at their indifference,
For it is their lives
Flying away with the clouds?
But are those children not
Like the kites?

How shiny kites we had,
Where are they now, anybody knows?
How we doted on them! But
Now our hands hold which lines?

A psalm for much later

System, say that as time will flee
far past this eternity
no star, no dust, no light lives on
and, if You wish, You too are gone,

I still can ask right here and now
imprinted on this sheet and dried
so eternally: Why, how,
no, if it still pleases Thee we died?

If not, let us return some day
very different from before
and Who knows, I’ll try once more
some other way
