When it comes to writing poetry I have very little experience but I still enjoy doing it. I mostly only write when I'm depressed, which is why I have a rather small collection of poems. Many times I start on a new piece, but then I lose the "mood" required to finish it. I usually only write depressing poetry that ends up with suicide. I find this to be much more interesting than sappy love poetry and any other genre. So yeah, that's basically my explanation of my inspiration for my poems; it comes from my depression.
