DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others; even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy

Eddy’s 10 Laws of Living

1. Bad comes we can't change that, but we can choose HOW we will react
to it. Life is a series of actions and reactions and it is our REactions that
determine the path we walk and where we arrive in the end.
It is by OUR choices we land in the current state of today and it will be
by our choices where we will be standing tomorrow.

2. It is not the passing through of lives that matters but rather
what we learn within those experiences of temporary meetings.
Each person who passes through our life affects us in positive or
negative ways, but even the negative are by our choosing for we
determine how we REact to their actions of hate, love, friendship, or
whatever else may come.

3. Perfection is a goal to aim for and not actual value of present existence,
for anything in the state of perfection would be unchanging and we need
only look around to see ALL is in the state of change and hence nothing in
this world is perfect.

4. Real love is unconditional and any that has conditions attached is
not really love but only illusions of the wants of love to be molded to
our expectations of what we think it is and not what it actually is,
pure emotion with no personal or preconceived attachments whatsoever.
Anytime the phrase "You don't love me because" is said, it shows the false
love and not the real because of the conditions the come after that
statement, personal applied conditions trying to mold what love is into
what we think love should be. Love never changes, only we do.

5. It's not about you or me, but rather about us as a whole. For we rise
and fall as a whole unit. So the failure to raise up those around you also
prevents your ultimate rise to the top. We either create enemies or friends by our actions and caring or lack of it towards other people.

6. Happiness is an internal state and can not be maintained through
the external. Things are only illusions of happiness for if they were not
the feelings of happiness would not fade and we would have no need for
the continual collecting of anything newer and bigger over and over
again. (Clothes, cars, home, people)

7. Time is limited and gives no guarantee of tomorrow. All we have is
this present moment. One that we either enjoy or waste by the choice of
how we live it. Time does not care what choice you make when spending it
for it is impartial in and of itself, therefore spend your time wisely and
complain not when you applied it wrongly for the time to change things
if right now, we can never change the past.

8. Duality is the ingredient of existence and in it you will find the basis
of all truth. Think of two balls with a line drawn between them, one white
and one black representing the two states of all existances. Anything outside
the pure ends is but gray zones created for and by man in an attempt of trying
to change true reality into a new reality that fits his/her own mind. Belief in
anything does not make it. So too real truth can never be changed by wishful thinking. All states/questions/observations should be reduced down to a
to simple yes and no answer for in the maybe lays the very lies of mankind itself.

9. Outward competition is sure path to failure for only when we compete with
our self do we follow the path of what we are seeking and not what others think
we should seek. Individualized progress comes in the helping of and not competition against others. For all men are poor losers at heart and will lay in wait to bring about your future downfall if the opportunity arises which in turn keeps both of you from achieving full potentials. We all have strengths and weaknesses and through coming
together we will fill in the missing parts of each other, thus both achieving more
in the end, if vanity and jealousy are both held in check.

10. Any true religion will only be giving and never taking for they will understand we are all one and raise or fall as a group. Any organization that belittles another one is nothing more than a cult and holds not truth within it's heart but only hatred and greed to raise above and stomp out what they deem as their competition to the intake of money and building of their purses.

Therefore stay true to yourself, but hurt no one
along the way...
