I am a single, 40 year old, woman, living in San Diego, CA, in a one bedroom apartment with my pollydactyl cat, "Blue". Blue sports 14 toes in the front and 12 toes in the back. I raised horses for 20 years and worked in the manufacturing field for 15 years. I've recently suffered two great losses in my life, my beloved mother and my dearest grandfather. Still trying to pull it together. But, I'm making progress. I am a virgo, so self expression is an absolute necessity! Poetry is a wonderful form of release/expression. I have always been artistically inclined, but usually by way of pencil sketches, crafts, decorating, and singing. Poetry is a new avenue of expression for me. I wrote my first poem in winter 2004 entitled "Soul Pursuit". Inspired by tragedy, and later published by poetry.com, it is a poem about unrequited love. I didn't write again until the summer of 2007. I've written 25 poems to date, 2 of which have been published by poetry.com. The second poem published is entitled "Self Respect", (self explanatory). My best poem, in the opinion of many who've read it, is called "You Possess Me". It is my shortest poem, to date, however, it has the greatest impact, I believe. I'll let you be the judge of that though.
