My poetry is meant as an invitation - an invitation to welcome the world from a space of gentle awareness. Resting in this great spaciousness, we become transparent to a greater life, something utterly unspeakable. Yet, paradoxically, poetry is born out of this - spontaneously, joyously, gratefully. From silence, the creative Word is spoken.
This gentle space is fully available to all of us, in this exact moment. Just let your awareness become soft, accepting. Just let your heart melt. This is the grace of God. This is the Mystery. This is your true Self.
"If you can just appreciate each thing, one by one, then you will have pure gratitude. Even though you observe just one flower, that one flower includes everything. It is not just a flower. It is the absolute, it is Buddha himself. [...] But at the same time, that which exists is just a flower, and there is no one to see it and nothing to be seen."
~Shunryu Suzuki
"To study the Way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self. To forget the self is to be enlightened by all things of the universe. To be enlightened by all things of the universe is to cast off the body and mind of the self as well as those of others. Even the traces of enlightenment are wiped out, and life with traceless enlightenment goes on forever and ever."
~Eihei Dogen
"True freedom comes when every speck of the known collapses into the unknown, not just for a moment but continually."

Duana on April 6, 2005In reading your first paragraph in regards to how much you love poetry, I ralized I am in love with love the way you are in love with poetry. Unfortunately love isn't as accessible as poetry- to all. Once it is, I think the doors of perception to all things open up, including poetry and all else in the world.
I enjoyed reading your page. It was like a breath of fresh air. (unfortunately lasting as long as my read- like the excitement of a video game
No offense). But the world you describe has been a fantasy for me...and is my hope...which kind of contadicts your philisophy which states that you should embrace the present moment of whatever world your in, not hold on to elusive hope. Is that interpreation of that aspect right? I think you would enjoy the band "Awake". Have you heard of them? There are just a few of their songs I like(I don't know how consistent they are as a band...but the songs I was thinking you might like are 'Dance With You', and wow the title alludes me and it's a favorite song- I'll get back to you on that...anyway, I might be wrong but they seem to be of the same spirit as you present yourself on this page.)
Well glad I stopped by. You won't find any profudity on my page or in my poetry
Everything I feel I can't express...but still I appreciate very much poetry and people like you. And I loved your page! Sincerely, Duana -

Duana on October 31, 2004Hi there. I came to you by way of Maatkara(and I see she has left you a comment right above
) I am not a good poet yet- just a person trying to understand the world and expression of poetry. I have studied theology, and ultimately somehow I ended up here where poetry has been kind of my world for the past four months. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself. Glad I found your page, and I am looking forward to reading your poetry.
