The best way to meet people on here is to get involved in some groups (I can make some recommendations if you'd like) and just go around commenting on other people's poetry. I can show you how to navigate it when I'm over tomorrow if you'd like. 
A very nifty site with lots of cool features. Definitely check out the contest section as I'm sure you'd be able to win lots of trophies with your talent!
