I'm Jonny Ridge and first and foremost, a musician and If you saw me in the street you may just think I'm your typical Goth, or someone who wastes and hates life. That is far from the truth.

I'm rarely not listening to or playing music and hope that someday I will be able to be a musician for a living (if not then i would love to be a poet).

I mainly listen to Black Metal but I also love Jazz, Blues and Melodic Death Metal. It is from the Black Metal and Melodic Death Metal genres that my recent love of poetry and lyric writing has been developed, from bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Cradle Of Filth and Opeth.

After reading and listening to a lot of their lyrics i have begun to appreciate the real art of song writing and poetry. This main influence doesnt always show in my poetry, as I tend to use real life situations for that, but in my song writing it is normally very clear (unless of course I'm writing music for a different genre).

I am also a christian, I have been all my life but only in the last couple of years have I felt to have any real connection with God. I have yet to write poems about my relationship with Jesus but I am very sure I will do in the near future.

I am currently in the process of writing a collection of poems over two months about/to/for people close to me (or occaisonally just about me), this collection is called 'Two Months Of My Love'. On each poem I have written in the authors notes who it is about or if I have not wished to release that information I have written anon. I will get all of my poems added as soon as possible.
