My Grandmother was always an inspiration to me when it came to writing. She was born in 1910 and lived to be 96 years old. She could write about her family and her home town of Truly Montana in a way that could make you feel as if you were there, you could feel the gentle breeze through your hair, smell the aroma of the tall, dry grass flowing like hair in the gentle wind, and smell the crisp clean of the enormous, blue sky. I felt as if I knew my Swedish great-great grandparents and their very proper ways, and I could imagine the hillside my grandma hiked up and down lugging buckets of water to her grandma in the kitchen.
Even though she is no longer present in my physical life, she continues prodding me along in my writing, knowing there is an abundance there yet undiscovered.
