"The guitar makes dreams weep."
- Frederico Garcia Lorca

"Poems are not made with ideas, they are made with words."
- Mallarme'

"Poets who do not study music are defective."
- Ezra Pound

I am a working musician, guitar teacher and poet. My writing and music has been influenced by many artists - a few are Bob Dylan, John Fahey, Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Van Gogh, Patti Smith and CS Lewis.
You can find a bunch of my poems here. You can check out my music at www.jerryoliver.com - I hope you enjoy!

On this site be sure to check out Abby Eyeball, Ken Mowery, Belac and Manicmuze!

To capture a poem, you need to crouch like a cat waiting for his prey - nose twitching, eyes darting, ready to pounce at any moment, but patient enough to wait. See, hear, taste....sense. You'll know when the time is right.
