Me
The hands of my mothers molded my clay.
Beliefs of my fathers have led me the way.
Cries of my sisters have humbled my soul.
Strengths of my brothers taught me of gold.
Words of my teachers taught me to hear.
Words of my preachers, the making of fear.
Reactions are given, reactions that's taught.
I am you that you made me, I am what you sought.
I am but your ego along with your dream.
I am what your heart felt, I am what you think.
Nothing about me is all of my own.
Just one of the masses through time that has grown.
We ready the future, we ready the way.
Shaping tomorrow, afraid of today.
We're in this together, guided by lines.
One giant ride on a small wave of time.

Nicole Cudworth on October 17, 2006Thank you for commenting on the tonyastadler poem that I featured. I think she hasn't gotten enough recognition for this one and I know just how deeply she feels on this issue. Feel free to check out her other works, there aren't many but I think she's talented and want her to have a little encouragement.
Thanks again. -
