My name is Amanda and I have just had my whole world ripped apart. Justin has broken up with me, and has told me he hates me. I tried to keep it together, but i guess i wasn't good enough. I am empty and dead. Drowning in my own misery...I would do anything to get him back, but it won't happen. i am just not good enough, on my list of fuck-ups, this is the worst. I thought i could finally do something right, it was a phairytale, but it turned into my worst fear. I am alone in the world again, and its my own damn fault.

  • MikeLondon : Leaves of Eve explained on November 22, 2008
One of my favorite poems that I have written, and one I continually return too (hence a zillion different versions). The poem is about me and my art. "The Leaves of Eve" is my writing, which should clear this mystery up for you. When I originally wrote the poem in 1995, I wrote "Leaves" because "leaves" is another word for paper, and I combined Leaves with Eve as there is rhyming there. I could probably come up with something better as Eve don't really tie in that well, unless perhaps poetry and writing is part of the "femine mind", whcih of course it isn't. Now the poem is to much a part of me to really change around.
