I'm Jasmine! I'm 19... and I'm attending the University of South Alabama. I have a problem: I edit. All the time. I hate consistent typos and ridiculously horrible grammar. Sometimes, I get that it happens. But come on, be serious. It's a problem... anyway: I have been writing on this site for over four years now. My style has changed alot and tends to be strange and sometimes even I don't understand it. But I love to write. Comment some stuff. that'd be nice.

I love:
*Harry Potter...(yay, can't wait till November
)
*Music (love Country and Show Tunes especially
[Rascal Flatts awesome... Taylor Swift is awesomer. And I liked her before everyone else even knew about her, for the record. Reba is amazing, and Garth is timeless... And Tim Mcgraw's old stuff is beautiful.]
*movies (I quote them. all the time. not intetionally, but i do it anyway. people always hear me say things that they swear they have heard before, but i just tell them where i got it and they say, "Wow. you quoted it so well." I reply with: "well, *clears throat* thank you. I try." *grins*)
*fairies! (yes, they do exist. and yes, when you say you don't believe, another fairie falls down dead.)(start clapping because you probably just said "fairies don't exist, what's wrong with this girl, is she like four?")
*fantasy (I <3 it! though, I can't write it very well.)
*my bestest friends... but due to newly developing futures, it will be harder to see them all... But with most of them, I'm willing to bet it'll be ok.
*poetry and writing. That's why I'm here:]
*Photography. I'm absolutely in love with my camera and taking pictures...
I hate (or dislike, whichever you prefer):
*movies that are just copies of another story with different characters. (don't bother. it'll be stupid.)(don't try to convince me otherwise.)
*braces. Got them off January 24th, 2007... had them for seven years.... yeah. you'd hate them too... oh and no. It wasn't worth it... my teeth are hideous.
but anyway...

A lady at my church read this the Sunday before the Fourth of July '07 and I found it online and thought I'd share it with you. It was found on the body of an unknown soldier. His identity was never discovered. It's called "And God was There."
"Look God, I have never spoken to you,
But now I want to say 'how do you do'
You see God, they told me you didn't exist,
and like a fool, I believed all this.
Last night from a shell hole, I saw your sky,
I figured right then they had told me a lie.
Had I taken the time to see things you made,
I'd have known they weren't calling a spade a spade.
I wonder God, if you'd shake my hand,
Somehow I feel that you will understand.
Funny, I had to come to this hellish place,
Before I had time to see your face.
Well, I guess there isn't much more to say,
But I'm sure glad God, I met you today.
I guess the "zero-hour " will soon be here,
But I'm not afraid since I know you're here.
The signal; well God, I'll have to go,
I like you lots, this I want you to know.
Look now, this will be a horrible fight,
Who knows, I may come to your house tonight.
Though I wasn't friendly to you before,
I wonder God, If you'll wait at your door.
Look, I'm crying. Me shedding tears,
I wish I had known you these many years.
Well, I have to go now, God, good-bye,
Strange, since I met you, I'm not afraid to die."

This is from the movie Jack. In his graduation speech, he says this:
"...in the end none of us have very long on this earth. Life is fleeting. And if you're ever distressed... cast your eyes to the summer sky...when the stars are strung across the velvety night. And when a shooting star streaks through the blackness turning night into day -- make a wish; think of me...And make your life... spectacular. I know I did."
"And to this day she's whispering:
One of these days you're gonna love me
You'll sit down by yourself and think
About the time you turned from me
And what good friends we might've been
And then you're gonna sigh a little
Maybe even cry a little but
One of these days youre gonna love me..."
--Tim McGraw's "One Of These Days"
"Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes: and leap!
It's time to try
Defying gravity
I think I'll try
Defying gravity
And you can't pull me down!
...
I'm through accepting limits
Cause someone says they're so.
Some things I cannot change
But 'till I try, I'll never know.
Too long I've been afraid of
Losing love - I guess I have lost
Well, if that's love
It comes at much too high a cost
I'd sooner buy
Defying gravity
Kiss me goodbye
I'm defying gravity
And you can't pull me down...
So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky
As someone told me lately -
Ev'ryone deserves the chance to fly
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who'd ground me
Take a message back from me -
Tell them how I
Am defying gravity!
I'm flying high
Defying gravity!
And soon I'll match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down"
--Elphaba in "Wicked"'s "Defying Gravity"
"Here in this diary,
I write you visions of my summer.
It was the best I ever had.
There were choruses and sing-alongs,
and that unspoken feeling
of knowing that right now is all that matters.
All the nights we stayed up talking
listening to 80's songs;
and quoting lines from all those movies that we love.
It still brings a smile to my face.
I guess when it comes down to it...
Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up:
These are the best days of our lives.
The only thing that matters
is just following your heart
and eventually you'll finally get it right."

Corey Harvard on December 15, 2008Hey Jasmine,
I hope you have a great holiday!
-
Jazzyjune on March 8, 2006Well, let's see. A friend of mine (Fenix) wanted me to read a poem of yours so i did and then I saw that you were out of town on your opening page. Then, a while later, I saw you on the website and I thought he was on so I got on AIM and sent him a message, and said, "You're friend's back." He replied, "who?" and I said, "Claide."....
It turns out that you were at his house on his computer and you told me it was you. That is how I first met you persay. I knew you lived in our area because Fenix told me, so I looked you up in the yearbook and knew I had seen you around school, but didn't know you in person.
I have been on here for ten months, I have known who you were for about that amount of time, and no,m it's not coincidence as that is how I came to know you in the first place....
Now, I am confused as we have talked before and thought we had gone over this... but then again, i am very tired and a little distracted, so whatever... i could just be losing muy mind or something... anyways!
~Jazmyn~ -
Claide on March 6, 2006Wow. How long have you been on AP? Have you known who I was for a long time or is it just coincidence that we live in the same area?? Hmm...
-
Jazzyjune on January 31, 2006Sorry it took me so long to reply to this!!! We can tell how often I check my author's page!!! I really appreciate that. I am glad that Someone else understands what I'm trying to say in my poems about my friends.
Thanks again!!!
~~~Jazmyn~~~
