Alright....so I've finally decided to change my page. Why? I don't know *rubs back of head*. What I do know is that I am a hardcore Christian, and a hardcore rocker(yes you can have both). I have had to deal with some pretty heavy stuff in my life, heavier than some, but not as heavy as others. I still deal with it today...as is apparent from my writing.
I've come to realize that most of the people who have gone through what I've gone through (and worse) are seeking answers. Seeking truth, seeking something undenibly real. I like to think I've found that in God. Some would argue the point, and I don't really care. I know what I know, and would be glad to share it with anyone.
As for the rocker aspect of me. I love everything about it. The music, the fashion, the lifestyle, the attitude, everything. My parents would argue that 'how can you say you love God, then listen to that/dress like that.' And the counter is simple (but I don't really want a pan imprint on my head because of it). When you love God it seriously changes your heart, and gradually you start to think about rock in a different way. And then you start listening to a little less death, and a little more pure, energetic rock. It's still rock, just a different flavor.
I would like a band. Right now I have the worlds most awesome chick bass/key player (that wouldn't eat me), and a tenetive lead. I've got plenty of lyrics, some with music, most without. Mainly because everyone ounce of my musical ability lies within rhythm/vocals. Basically put...stringed instruments scare me. I was a flute player during symphonic band, and on drumline during football. I can tell my bassist the rhythm I want, and she can play it.
Anyways all this in the last paragraph will hopefully change (with me adding names of my bandmates). And if you read this and have any question about being a christian/rocker, please don't hesitate to im me. I totally love random ims. So....yeah.....
Here are some of my favorite song lyrics
Placebo: Running Up that Hill (originally by Kate Bush)
It doesn't hurt me.
You wanna feel how it feels?
You wanna know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
You wanna hear about the deal I'm making?
You (be running up that hill)
You and me (be running up that hill)
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
If I only could, oh...
You don't want to hurt me,
But see how deep the bullet lies.
Unaware that I'm tearing you asunder.
There is thunder in our hearts, baby.
So much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me, we both matter, don't we?
You, (be running up that hill0
You and me, (be running up that hill)
You and me won't be unhappy.
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building,
If I only could, oh...
'C'mon, baby, c'mon, c'mon, darling,
Let me steal this moment from you now.
C'mon, angel, c'mon, c'mon, darling,
Let's exchange the experience, oh...'
And if I only could,
Make a deal with God,
And get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems..
'If I only could, be running up that hill.'
Tool: Parabola
We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment
We are choosing to be here right now, hold on, stay inside
This holy reality
This holy experience, choosing to be here in
This body
This body holding me
Be my reminder here that
I am not alone in
This body
This body holding me
Feeling eternal, all this
Pain is an illusion
Alive!
In this holy reality
In this holy experience, choosing to be here in
This body
This body holding me
Be my reminder here that
I am not alone in
This body
This body holding me
Feeling eternal, all this
Pain is an illusion
Swirling round with this familiar parable
Spinning, weaving round each new experience
Recognize this as a holy gift and
Celebrate this chance to be
Alive and breathing, the chance to be
Alive and breathing
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality
Embrace this moment, remember: we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion
Disturbed: Believe
Believe, when you lie
You will never need to recognize yourself
To deceive
To remove all chance of doubt and be received
With your lie
The deception is complete when you concede
And decide
To reject your lives, sacrificed to me
Penance can't absolve your sin, into me
Penance can't absolve your sin
All your belief cannot absolve your sin [x2]
Believe, when you lie
You will never need to recognize the source
Of deceit
To renew your faith in God
You must believe, in your lie
The redemption is complete when you conceive
And decline
To release your lives
Sacrificed to me
Penance can't absolve your sin, into me
Penance can't absolve your sin
All your belief cannot absolve your sin [x2]
Reap your life, like you want to recognize, all you've come to [x2]
Reap your life
Veiled in shadow
Recognize
Faces of the crucified
I can hear their screams tonight
Ever haunting me
Burn your lie into me
Penance can't absolve your sin, into me
Penance can't absolve your sin
All your belief cannot absolve your sin [x4]
