My name is Maria G. Benacquista.
I'm Italian. I was born in a very little town in Lazio, Central Italy, now I live near Pisa, well known all over the world for its famous leaning tower.
When I was nine years old I left my country to go to South America. I lived in Venezuela for 13 years.
I write poetry in Italian and in Spanish too.
I began to write poems in Spanish , a language I love so much, so sweet and with a delicious musicality. I write in spanish under the name of Iris Maria.
I love poetry. It's a nice way to open my mind and my heart and say what I have inside me...pains, happiness, points of view...or a way to 'play' with words and imagination.
I like to walk in this magic world called poetry, made of only words and pictures that make me dream...
We need to dream from time to time...
