JT SammerShow poetry

I'm a laid back guy that has seen the beauty of life and the ugly side of life. I've been on both sides of the railroad tracks, traveled this beautiful countryside so many times that I never grow weary of it. A thought occured to me as I read things, here's the best description I can come up with; I am a black and white photo with thousands of memories etched into my features.

I'm an American hippie, my name is Jordan T. Sammer by adoption, but I prefer to be called J or if your really close to me Burrito. The awesome dudes in my picture, btw I'm the bearded one, is my awesome brothers Derek and Todd. Derek's the eldest in the middle and Todd is the youngest on the end. I was a boy who utterly destroyed his life with drugs but now I am slowly becoming a man who is rebuilding.I am much more happy (AND CLEAN!) and working hard to make it through it all and doing wonderful with it. I'm a hippie, it's pretty simple, but I am attempting to live life amazingly, trying to make my mark in this world in some form or fashion. To be a hippie you must believe in peace as the way to resolve differences among peoples, ideologies and religions. The way to peace is through love and tolerance. Loving means accepting others as they are, giving them freedom to express themselves and not judging them based on appearances. This is the core of my personal hippie philosophy.

I love music, because to me music is life, I am going to try to start saying what song is playing in the notes when I was writing because most of the music I listen to inspires me like crazy. Most of my poetry is of memories, life, love and the pursuit of my happiness. Some are hard to read, some make you cry, some will make you think. But most of my recent poetry has become my release, my valve of what happened. hI love a little girl by the name of Alexa Renne Hostetler more then this world will ever know...I love you Sky Princess. Anyways when I write about relationships, it's usually past relationships I have been or ones I have watched. My writings are often my feelings in my heart or often enough it's something that I am way too scared to say to anyone. But my dream for this world, for this everything and mainly for my own life is I want to "...see the whole thing is a world full of rucksack wanderers, Dharma Bums refusing to subscribe to the general demand that they consume production and therefore have to work for the privilege of consuming, all that crap they didn’t really want anyway such as refrigerators, TV sets, cars, …all of them imprisoned in a system of work, produce, consume, work, produce, consume, I see a vision of a great rucksack revolution thousands or even millions of young Americans wandering around with rucksacks, going up to mountains to pray, making children laugh and old men glad, making young girls happy and old girls happier, all of ‘em Zen Lunatics who go about writing poems that happen to appear in their heads for no reason and also by being kind and also by strange unexpected acts keep giving visions of eternal freedom to everybody and to all living creatures."-Jack Kerouac 1958. I am former USAF CC Unit, but that's all I really care to say about that.I usually drives many people nuts with these poems but it's pure and raw emotion, so I have no apologies for my writings.

Some people often ask me the question why I'm not dating anyone nor married or any of that good jazz (when you grow up in a Mexican/Native American/Italian home it's odd for one not to be seeing someone at my age or married etc.) I am borrowing this from a poem that Cindy wrote (CinfullyDeliscious look her up an amazing poet and person, muy amor mi hermano from Down Under!) I want the woman that makes me say..."You’re the addiction I must satisfy." When I find her then my life will be complete but until I find my addiction, I am content being sober.

Enough of that! Onto the poetry!

But first...some amazing quotes by well amazing people

"There aren't many people who are brave enough to place their life on the line to defend their honor and dignity as a human being. Just surviving, like an animal, you don't need honor and dignity." ~ Jaric Mondoran~

"I believe that I was put on this earth to fulfill a purpose. I also believe that the purpose I was put here to fulfill is a God given, lifelong journey. In the journey of my life, my faith, family, and goals will influence me, but i must choose to make every day worthwhile.

I will cherish the people who are close to me, for they support and encourage me.I will value my enemies, for they help me learn who I am.I will serve others, for service keeps me grounded.I will live with convictions, for they shape and drive me.I will work hard, for true satisfaction comes only after toil.I will live life to the fullest, for life is fragile and precious. I will struggle and I will succeed. I will love and I will hurt, I will laugh and I will cry My life will not always be easy, but I will always take comfort in knowing that the final destination of my journey is a long walk on the golden streets of Heaven."

~Mason Raye Wedel~ I miss you bud.

"When power narrows the areas of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of his existance. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses."

~John F. Kennedy~

"You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you." ~Ray Bradbury

"Heard ten thousand whispering and nobody listening. Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughing. Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter."
~Bob Dylan

You cannot shake hands with a clenched fist. ~ Gandhi

"I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who overcomes his enemies, for the hardest victory is victory over self." ~ Aristotle

"One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon - instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today." ~ Dale Carnegie

"Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future."
~ 16th century poet

"Great tranquility of heart is his who cares for neither praise nor blame." ~Thomas a’ Kempis

"I always like a dog so long as he isn't spelled backward." ~G.K. Chesterton

"If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal." ~John Lennon

"We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it." ~John Lennon

"When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream." ~John Lennon

Just stopping by to leave you some love.
Because I know you could always use it.
Even on a good day when it comes from Moi.♥

    I love you.
    & Alexa too.
    My imperfect little family.
    Always thinking of you.
& Don't you dare tell me not to worry.
    I'll smack you.

    Oh and BTW:
I heard "Addicted" again at work.
& It drove me slightly insane.
(More so than I already am.)
-Skips off, giggling and singing happily.-
