"When The Rain Falls So Does His Heart"
thunder rumbles;
people and words form behind his eyes
heartache and goodbyes
stain his fingertips
voices in his head speak to him
(they yell and they hurt but he can't resist them)
rain falls;
and the words pour out beat for beat
lightening strikes like he broke
open the sky
still, his hand races across the page
as he traces phantom touches and
lonely sighs
(can you feel him tremble?)
the wind blows;
he holds the fate of his story
but he sways to the desperation of
empty hearts and salty lips
and he still feels the power of words
they taste like the freedom of the ocean breeze
(he smiles and it hurts like sunshine)
the cloud parts;
he sits and watches
(he still burns and i am blinded)
