What about me? Hmmm, let's give this some thought. I am a middle of my life average type of guy that tends to look at life in my own unique way.
I am not an overly depressed person but, I can see the world around me and appreciate the tragedies that occur in it. The abuse in any of its forms, killing in the name of religion, lack of compassion from those professing the importance of compassion, starvation in one area while just a few kilometers or even meters away, food is wasted, and the wealthy getting wealthier on the backs of those of us that are trying to survive.
However, there is joy. There are those that would give all they have to help others in need. There are those that have and will lay down their lives to stop injustices. I have witnessed a person going hungry to ensure that someone else would have something. I am thankful for those that stand up against abuse. I am living proof that there are still people that think of themselves last in the scale of importance.
I am not an elitist. I will welcome anyone to sit with me, run with me, or simply be with me. I am no more or less human than anyone else. I could not care any less about your religion, race, or where you came from.
I have only one personality trait that I abhor. That is chosen ignorance. I have no sympathy for anyone that chooses to not learn or decides that they need no more knowledge or thinks that they know it all. Either trait prevents you from fully living up to your potential.

I am feeling the burn of my every thought.
Familiar with the sense of internal rot. -
My heart is void and my mind is blank.
Sailing the seas on a ship that sank. -
Alive inside with a heavy weight on my chest.
A joy that will explode out from my breast.19 lines, August 18 -
Heaven knows why we must go through this.
Life puts us through things that are amiss.

DeepDarkDesire on November 9, 2006Evening Kevin, it's been a while since you commented on my work. I do appreciate your honesty and your time. But I fear I must justify my latest poem. My muse has taken a funny turn, I've posted a few poems online and if you take a look any time soon ( not a hint...honest
I know that your busy!) then perhaps you could mention to me how it's all going wrong. Anyways, I trust all is well and your family is safe. Much care-Hol
