Hey! I'm Chris Nichols. That's not my real name; but you don't need to know that.

I'm a Public Relations major at Webster University in St. Louis, MO.

My passions in life include poetry (of course) and performance. All through high school I participated in theatre (4 years--I received the Renaissance award my sophomore year), Choir (4 years, Two years show choir), Speech Team (2 years--1st place three times at regular competitions, 6th place at finals for Prose), and--my favorite--Color Guard (2 years--Captain 1 season, including Most Outstanding Performer out of 50 people in my camp group over the summer.)

About my poetry: I do not read others' poetry for anything but pleasure reading. I feel that if I get ideas from reading others' poetry, it's like stealing...well, to me at least. I just can't do it. Most of my inspiration comes passively, mostly from random shit. But I normally do better if it's something I'm attracted to or severely opposed to, like caramel apple suckers or cigarette smoking, respectively.

Oh and I don't believe in edited versions of poems, unless it's basic grammar. Even then, every word, letter, and piece of punctuation has meaning.

Oh yeah and I'm not too concerned about structure with some of my works. Whatever comes out of my head and onto paper is what it is. You'll find this more recurring with my anger poems, but there's definitely some lack of structure in happy ones, too...
