The conkers (horse chestnuts to the uninitiated) are falling of the trees and will soon be joined by the leaves. The dark mornings and even darker nights have arrived to make the daily commute to and from work even more depressing. The ch

Hello, here, since I couldn't comment on your column about the vernacular poet, though I was logged in at Oldpoetry. . Welcome to my world Readers
This is White Rose land [Yorkshire] but all visitors are welcome.
Here you will find the offerings of a wanna-be poet and hopefully you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing (and sometimes performing) them.
However if you get tired of my scribblings then why not feast your eyes on the works of some REAL poets on the sister site to Allpoetry that goes by the inspired title Oldpoetry
Maybe it's because I am becoming recognised as an OLD poet but I enjoy spending time on the Oldpoetry website oldpoetry.com/ where I am a member of the Research Team.
I can go to the front page oldpoetry.com/ and choose from the list of popular poets or the Poem for the Day or even just pick a random category and a random poem and enjoy reading what appears.
