I Can Only Be Me• Show poetry

I joined AllPoetry back in 2005 and have been away for awhile. A lot has happened since then. I moved from Chicago to Colorado and the adjustment has been hard. I have not been quite myself and I have been writing down random thoughts... I decided to try to make sense of it all by writing it down in poetry form. I have been thinking about how lucky I am latley.
I have 3 boys that I can't live without.
Friends that make me laugh, and family that keep me real.  

I have meet so many people over the past year that make me greatful to be alive and I learn from them about life, love and who I am.  

I know that I will never be the one that changes the world with an idea or invention, but I hope that with my love and light I make the people around me happy and in some small way... I can change their world and make it better even if only for a moment.

I hope the physical body is just the vessel for the ideas, and not more important than the words.  I hope the shell simply complements what's inside; like an elegant cover to a book or a crystal glass to wine.      ~~Halcyon
