I have had a heart for writing since the age of ten. It has always been the best way I could express myself. Whatever I am feeling seems to flow best in writing. I had a drought of about eight years in this. From age twenty to about twenty-eight, I absolutely did not write. It was as if life itself had snuffed out my passion.
When I was twenty-seven I gave my life to Christ. It wasn't until a couple of years after that (maybe less) I began to write once again but found my writing was different. Instead of poetry I began writing short articles on what I was experiencing in my life with Christ. Later on did I regain the passion for prose. I had indeed found the greatest love of my life, Jesus and it showed up in my poetry.
Favorite Scriptures:
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Joel 2:25 - I will restore to you the years the locusts have eaten.
Isaiah 54:5 - For your Maker is your husband- the Lord Almighty is his name- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth.
Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.
Song of Songs 2:2 - Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens.
Favorite Quote - "I am the hope and the dream of the slave" - Maya Angelou
