I'm a first year student majoring in English at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. When I'm not writing poetry or doing schoolwork, I'm working on one of my several novels, drawing, painting, watching anime, reading or getting waist deep in debate. I love Japanese and French rock, as well as a few select American and Canadian artists. I'm a liberal socialist, a feminist, and an unabashed survivor of rape and sexual abuse.
I have a very close relationship with my Aunt Natasha, who recently married into my family via my favourite uncle, Uncle Shaun. She's like a big sister to me, and I don't know where I'd be today without her. My best friends are the sarcastic and aloof James, the innocent and caring Jessica, the emotional and poetic Erin (lunacie here on AP) and the non-judgemental and talkative Megan.
Poetry-wise, I write unrhyming freeverse. Beyond that, I don't really limit myself to writing about one genre or topic; the world, for me, is filled with inspiration. I'm a huge fan of Allen Ginsberg, but I'll read and find things to appreciate in just about anything I can get my hands on.
