  • Night Hope : re: Zayra's newest book on October 2

My review of "Color Me Pomegranate" by Zayra Yves:

I first encountered this most gifted, prolific soul in the autumn of 2005. Little did I know, at the time, that she would be significant in the various evolutions of both my writing and my life. I knew then, as now, that she was more than merely
a force of nature to be reckoned with, one that was willing to committ herself to a life of creativity, which is no easy feat to master...yet, she has done just that: mastered it, and with such grace, style and eloquence. She does not just serve up images for us to savor - no, she lays a beautiful table with an elegant lace covering, providing a seven course meal, wine overflowing from our glasses, and dessert. We are sated by her very presence. Her words are profound and majestic. Her voice is one of clarity and substance. Her poetry, her cd’s, her art, her photography are all such essential elements of spirit and culture at their finest. Her titles alone will pull you in, capturing your imagination and your heart. She is not only one of us, she is the best of us. She will make you think about what it truly means to be alive, to be compassionate, to be a woman in modern times, to be a human being for all time.
As you open her pages, you are suddenly looking into a mirror of absolute truth. It is a magnificent sight, and you cannot look away, nor will you want to. I believe that her writing will stand the test of time; it will remain long after we, her present readers, are gone. Your own copies of her incredible, indelible art will be your grand legacy to those you love the best and the most. Prepare for the future, and gift yourself in the process.

  • I love your background! Excellent art:]
  • I for one am glad you're poking your head in again... and I'll speak for the flood of novices and dabblers, and everyone trying their hand at poetry for the first time, too... I've seen your site, quality work as always... and will always love your velvety voice and philosophies... I just posted a Victory Gin piece, but it is between me and him...
