...wants to be Kipling so bad it hurts. Learned a lot from www.poemranker.com, and a lot of my own self-tuition. I love structured, rhythmic verse (iambic metre more than anything) - I don't understand why people claim free verse is more liberating for the emotions. Show me a free verse poem which has more power to it than Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night". What's that? You can't? I'm not surprised...
People seem to like putting life mottos on here, like 'Life is a game.' Well I play Unreal Tournament, so the lessons are presumably: 1) It's more fun with your friends, and 2) don't trust anyone pointing a rocket launcher at you.
I probably sound like a poetry snob, but I'm nice really - and would love to meet like-minded people. I really enjoy reading and critiquing poetry - happy to comment and chat when I'm about
If you comment on mine, I'll comment on yours - promise. It'd be nice if other people would hold that philosophy too, I suppose. I don't really know what else to say without being uber self-promoting. If you want to know, just ask - if you're on MySpace and I trust you, I'll direct you there too
.

Calliopeia on October 27, 2006Thank you for the crits...I need it! I think I need that more than the platitudes. I wasn't sure if the hyphenated message was clear or not, and yes...I was playing. Thanks for being insightful enough to catch it. I am new to the site and have thoroughly enjoyed it thus far... After my nap, it is my goal to tackle some of your work...the titles alone intrigue me. British? We hail from Manchester. Until I am refreshed... Again, many thanks...I will make some changes...
