At fifteen, I don't feel that I am anywhere near the standard of the Adult poets on this site, but at the same time I am not going to let the fact that I'm unlikely to win stop me entering competitions. I think the most inspirational poem for me is "What were they like?", written by Denise Levertov. I also loved the work of Allan Ahlberg when I was younger.
"Please Mrs Butler
This boy Derek Drew
Keeps copying my work Miss,
what should I do?"
I love writing poetry, one of my most challenging ones recently was Cinderella's Plight, simply because of the strict rythm I'd begun and the rhyme. However, I love to write and read, and I'm hoping to expand my poetry collection as I get older.
