Hands of Diego• Show poetry

Yup, I'm a black guy
Not the most definitive aspect of my personality but I am proud of those aspects of my family history,
The hardships that my ancestors went through helps to mold the person who i am today, and hopefully i can stopp rambling and tell you a little about that person

Me
I like crazy drawn out romances
I love anyone with a story i can get enthralled in
I like sad songs, and happy songs, and songs i can dance to
songs i can listen to reflectively
Music is definately a huge peice of my life, thats something something that i feel i owe to my older sister
She pretty much introduced me to music, some of my earliest memories are of me and her singing along to whatever was playing in the house

I like to sing loud, I'm a loud person almost to a fault
I sing in the shower and I am damn proud of it.

I like to learn about an artist and try and think about what was in their hearts while i expirience their art

I love to act and hope to someday make a career out of it, someday probably should be soon
I just got out of high school
I'm trying to find my way towards college

I am very trusting but I'm not stupid

the song I feel pretty always brings me up when im in a bad mood,
but i have to be in a good enough mood to sing it
so if you ever see me out and about and i look down start singing and im sure i will join you

I like simple things
I like to get drunk and sing out into the night
Its sort of my way of howling at the moon during the midnight hours

Theres not alot of people i dont like, so if i were to tell you about all of my friends im sure i would take forever so i will just say this

Look at the consistent comments on my peices and comment them


Uh what else,
i guess there isnt much else

So i will just leave you to it

    I loved your poem it, it was very insightful and well written ha ha ha but seriously you captured so much how confusing life can be in many ways and I like that- thanks

    Your poem Draining my brain
    I love the lines
    I’m afraid to be by myself
    But I stay alone all the time
    It captures how lost and vulnerable we all feel sometimes and we do one thing and it hurts us but we can’t really help doing it, even though we know it will hurt us- thanks

    Its over, apparently it took an published slam poet to tell me what I wanted to hear, which was really all the contest was about in the first place.
    I dont get touched by lots of things and I read constantly.
    I thought that I was callous to the thoughts and intentions of other writers.
    Thats why I held the contest.
    And thats also why I was reluctant to comment unless I was called out (as I was several times).
    The poem that won hit me.
    And thats all I wanted
