GuitarDudeShow poetry

I don't really have much of a poetry style yet. Maybe I will someday, after I have written more. So far, most of my poetry is about my friend, Kippy. She's on AP also. Her sn is Kechara. I also have written some songs, as I am a musician(though I usually focus more on the music-I'm not much of a writer).

Kippy

42 Things About Me
(Why 42? Because 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Duh.)

1. I love my friend, Kippy, very much. (her sn is: Kechara)
2. I love to play guitar.

14. That doesn't mean I'm not a man.

16. I wish I was as good of a guitarist as Stevie Ray Vaughan.
17. I need to take a shit...

19. I'm running out of witty things to say...

I LOVE to play guitar. I have four guitars. They are an Epiphone Les Paul Special II, a Fender DG14S/12 12-string acoustic, a Harmony S1212 6-string acoustic, and a Peavey Raptor 1. I'm in a band called Politically Incorrect. You probably haven't heard of us yet. We are still trying to get a gig. But that's life. I'm also in a band called Spontaneous Combustion. Once again, you probably haven't heard of us yet. We hope to be in Battle Of The Bands this February.

My Favorite guitarist is Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is my idol and I hope to be as good as him one day.

Other favorites include, in no particular order, Eric Clapton, John Petrucci(Dream Theater), Al Di Meola, Paco De Lucia, Andres Segovia, Frank Zappa, Alex Lifeson(Rush), Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield(Metallica), Phil Geiger(SpiritEast), Keith Richards(Rolling Stones), Billy F. Gibbons(ZZ Top), Corey Stevens, Mark Morton and Willie Alder(Lamb of God), Micah Ortega and Sonnie Johnston(Five Iron Frenzy), Steve Howe(Yes), Herman Li and Sam Totman(Dragonforce), Jimmy Vaughan, Eddie Van Halen(Van Halen), George Thorogood

And to all of you "The End Is Near" poeple, you are 100% right. I happen to know of several signs of the Apocalypse:
1.Monty Python and The Holy Grail didn't win an Oscar
2.I was born...
3.My buddy, Chris, was born...
4.Gangsta rap got popular
5.Bush got re-elected
6.I got a girlfriend

Hey, have you heard? The pope has the bird flu. He got it from the cardinal...

A Day that shall go down in history: On December 4, 2006 I have posted my 69th comment .

Another day that shall go down in history: On December 9, 2006 I have won my first trophy. I have won Bronze for "My Kippy".

And now, a few kick-ass quotes:

"What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?

See how it sings like a sad heart
And joyously screams out its pain
Sounds that build high like a mountain
Or notes that fall gently like rain"
-Neil Peart, "2112"

"Broken the paradigm an example must be set
Invoke the Siren's song and sign the death warrant.
This what has been wrought for 30 pieces of silver
The tongues of men and angels bought by a beloved betrayer.
I am the result what's better left unspoken
Violence begins to mend what was broken
You've been talking, I've been all ears.
Words meant to dwell in darkness shall never see the light of day
Words can be broken, so can bones Execute the mandate
Mouth full of dirt. Your name removed from the registry
St. Peter greets with empty eyes then turns and locks the gate.
I am the result what's better left unspoken
Violence begins to mend what was broken
You've been talking, I've been all ears.
Omerta.
Cheaply venal, stupidly verbose
A slip of the tongue, a slit of the throat
Six feet under with no marker
Keep my name from your mouth forever.
Free speech for the living, dead men tell no tales
Your laughing finger will never point again.
Omerta.
Sing for me now."
-Lamb of God, "Omerta"

"One! Two! Five!"
"Three, sir!"
"Three!"
-Graham Chapman and Michael Palin, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

"The guitar is a small orchestra. It is polyphonic. Every string is a different color, a different voice."
"The piano is a monster that screams when you touch its teeth."
"Among God's creatures two, the dog and the guitar, have taken all the sizes and all the shapes, in order not to be separated from the man."
"Lean your body forward slightly to support the guitar against your chest, for the poetry of the music should resound in your heart."
-Andres Segovia

"I don't think anyone has commanded my respect more, to this day. The first time I heard Stevie Ray, I thought, 'Whoever this is, he is going to shake the world.' I was in my car and I remember thinking, I have to find out, before the day is over, who that guitar player is. That doesn't happen to me very often, that I get that way about listening to music. I mean, about three or four times in my life I've felt that way, in a car, listening to the radio, where I've stopped the car, pulled over, listened, and thought, I've got to find out before the end of the day, not, you know, sooner or later, but I have to know NOW who that is. ...and I remember being fascinated by the fact that he never, ever seemed to be...lost in any way...It was as though he never took a breather...or took a pause to think where he was gonna go next, it just flowed out of him. It's going to be a long time before anyone that brilliant will come along again. I didn't get to see or hear Stevie play near often enough, but every time I did I got chills and knew I was in the presence of greatness. He seemed to be an open channel and music just flowed through him. It never seemed to dry up. I have to tell this story: We played on the same bill on his last two gigs. On the first night, I watched his set for about half an hour and then I had to leave because I couldn't handle it! I knew enough to know that his playing was just going to get better and better. His set had started, he was like two or three songs in, and I suddenly got this flash that I'd experienced before so many times whenever I'd seen him play, which was that he was like a channel. One of the purest channels I've ever seen, where everything he sang and played flowed straight down from heaven. Almost like one of those mystic Sufi guys with one finger pointing up and one finger down. That's what it was like to listen to. And I had to leave just to preserve some kind of sanity or confidence in myself."
-Eric Clapton, talking about Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Can you tell that I LOVE anything guitar or music?"
-Me

"Like my brother Jimmie says, I play like I'm breaking out of jail."
-Stevie Ray Vaughan

"If I ever die of a heart attack, I hope it will be from playing my stereo too loud."
-Anonymous

"Play the music, not the instrument."
-Anonymous

"Success is not the result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire."
-Reggie Leach

"Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it sure does help!"
-Me

"Procrastinators Unite Tomorrow!"
-Some T-shirt

"There is no remedy for love but to love more."
- Henry David Thoreau

"I don't know what I don't understand. But I don't understand it."
-Me

"I'll chain you to the truth, for the truth shall set you free
I'll turn the screws of vengence and bury you in honesty
I'll make all your dreams come to life, then slay them as quickly as they came
Smother another failure, lay this to rest.
Console yourself, you're better alone
Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck
Absorb yourself, you're better alone
Destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck."
-Lamb of God, "Laid to Rest"

"I was a rebel from the day I left school
Grew my hair long and broke all the rules
I'd sit and listen to my records all day
With big ambitions of when I could play
My parents taught me what life was about
So I grew up the type they warned me about
They said my friends were just an unruly mob, and I should
Get a haircut and get a real job

Get a haircut and get a real job
Clean your act up and don't be a slob
Get it together like your big brother, Bob
Why don't you, Get a haircut and get a real job

I even tried that nine to five scene
I told myself that it was all a bad dream
I found a band and some good songs to play
Now I party all night, I sleep all day
I met this chick, she was my number one fan
She took me home to meet her mommy and dad
They took one look at me and said, "Oh, my God!"
"Get a haircut, and get a real job!"

Get a haircut and get a real job
Clean your act up and don't be a slob
Get it together like your big brother, Bob
Why don't you, Get a haircut and get a real job

Get a real job
Why don't you get a real job
Get a real job
Why don't you get a real
(kickass guitar solo)

I hit the big time with my rock'n'roll band
The future's brighter now that I have a plan
I'm ten times richer than my big brother, Bob
He's got a haircut, and he's got a REAL job

Get a haircut and get a real job
Clean your act up and don't be a slob
Get it together like your big brother, Bob
Why don't you, Get a haircut and get a real job

Get a real job
Why don't you get a real job
Get a real job
Why don't you get a real
(another kickass guitar solo until the song ends, fading out)"
-George Thorogood and The Destroyers, "Get a Haircut"

"Two wrongs don't make a right, they make a double-negative, which is a positive, which, when shown on a graph, is generally to the right. Therefore, two wrongs DO make a right, at least in some obscure way. Q.E.D."
-Me

You seem awesome, man! I also have a passion for guitar. I have 3 too, a Yamaha, [still my starter electric. not the best, but plays well.] A random Classical, and a Gianini 12 string that was apperently imported and some big deal, but i just like it for its clarity. =) I'm in a band too, we're moreof a project until my friend gets back from the Army. We have a few names picked out, but none that are official yet. When your band gets big, lets tour! =p
