Aloha
I am now living on the beautiful island of O'ahu.
Our house is really nice and right by the cliffs that hang over a beautiful beach and I am finally moved in.
I work as a Deputy and I am on personal leave until March of 2009.
My husband is a Capt. (Company Commander Infantry) in the Marine Corps and has now left for Iraq. We have been able to communicate only a little bit lately and it is hard. All of his guys got over there and he is busy getting his camp set up. Each day that passes is a day he is closer to home.
We have two kitties. Crashman and Wile E. I just adopted a Holland Lop bunny with no name yet. The kitties are having fun with it.
I love to garden, write, ride my bicycle, snorkel and just be. I am thankful for this opportunity to have this time that I have right now.
I am a bit depressed at the moment and I am keeping myself outside of the house with kayaking, snorkeling, running.... but when the sun goes down I miss him.
I bought a few 3000 piece puzzles that are killer and hope to start on one in the evening to help ease my brain.
Did I mention that I miss him?
I came along a poem by Elora Danon called "in grey"
I think it is beautiful and I have permission to put
it here. I am so greatful for that because it
speaks to me in volumes.
in grey
i have walked
in black,
carried silence
as a stone
felt the fall
of each step
slowly
crush the sun
i have lived
in white,
fought the emptiness
of nothing
numb the soul
and freeze the mind
but in grey,
hope flickers
and the unforeseen
promise of possibility
is pulled
from the most
unexpected of places
in grey,
wild skies race
while fathomless seas
swirl in expectation
and underneath
the churn
of the everyday,
a deeper current courses
in subtle, silent rhythm
with the beating
of a too long quiet
pixie heart
