PLEASE DO ME A FAVOUR

If you do not like honest, literary critiques to poems, please put me on your ignore and block list. Save us both the aggravation.

Put my on your ignore and block list if:

* If you think questioning the manner in which the poem was executed is attempting to re-write a poem (and a critic has no right to that);

* If you think a critic having a firm opinion on how to write is obnoxious;

* If your idea of improving is writing the exact same way that you've always written;

* If you insist on arguing if you don't agree with the critic's literary opinion.

* If you think any of my literary opinions would offend you, by all means, don't let me comment on your work!

I don't think there are rules to poetry, but I do think there are time-tested techniques, such as metaphor, allusions, word choice, word placement, etc that *do* help poems to become more effective. I don't think a poem has to rhyme, but it should have "musicality"-- a good beat to it, and the language can't be just the vernacular of everyday living-- it should be consciously chosen for effect. I also think poems should try to communicate an idea and transcend our common thoughts. A poem should be an experience that makes you think.

    allpoetry.com/poem/1119376 Just in case you wanted to look again! I won't "bug" you anymore! Sorry if I did. I am much too busy. This already took up more time than I am allowed for someone I don't know and has only read and commented on one of my poems.

    Oh next time read the poem and critique it, not the author's comments. I mean with all you say on this page I would love to know if the poem was \"time-tested techniques, such as metaphor, allusions, word choice, word placement, etc that do help poems to become more effective. Hmmmmm could you have been my thorn??? Is it possible that you reported me to the MODS for my comment regarding "page pouncing" for not commenting on featured poetry which costs precious points, and prescious points cost money??? Hmmmm I wonder, if I'm "bugging" you with this comment

    "please put me on your ignore and block list. Save us both the aggravation." Now that's a direct quote from above!

    Muuuuhahahaha

    Page Pouncing - Going to the page of the person who wasted your points in the feature box and constructively commenting (without being rude or malicious) on a number of poems to retrieve lost points .

    There is nothing threatening about this really, nor is there anything "bugging" as you stated in your comment on my poem, "You Asked For It!"

    Bugging people because they didn't comment is against the rules. As it should be. (delete?) (reply?)

    I sincerley hope this comment left here did not bug you. That was not my intemtion. Although I am glad I came across your comment. It behooves me that we can be tagged by a fellow poet and told to remove harmless words from our comment areas and never know who tjhe person was who tagged (reported) us in the first place. This site is wondrous. A little investigation always warrents success when one is persistant.

    I cannot pounce on your pages because you were kind enough to leave a comment, because this is an interactive community I will bother myself to go to one of your poems and leave a comment. I do return favors no matter how long it takes.

    Have a good day!

    Just wanted to tell you that I appreciated your comments on my contest, and your support. It might not have seemed like much, but, well there were a few prima donna types, so it was nice to have some back up. You give good critiques, too. I'm fond of your biography, I may have to take a few ideas and carry it over onto mine ...
