Poems from otheres about or for me:

From the poet EA- Marcy

You are leaving, so you say.

Come and spend less time, but stay.

There's a simple way around --

simply take your old poems down!

No one wants to read a pre-write --

make yourself submit all fresh!

Consider this another lit class --

get yourself fired up to write,

submit, critique and if they sit right

send 'em out for cash.

This was written by an amazing poet Samplette for one of my contests:

Beauty

lights up the sky,

executes perfection.

Razzle's and dazzles onlookers.

A gift for one special woman, Glenda.

Yet, welcoming all stargazers.

So, let your heart rejoice,

smile your smile of

Beauty.

From Mamabekaboo in a contest:

His Bride--

His Bride, an ornament of love,

Was sent to us by God above.

With blessing she does share her gift,

And often many spirits lift.

This was written by Bob and I love it and am touched by it:
Women of Your Valor by TheM0of

© Bob Barra, 4-24-06

Lately, Lord, I’ve been touched,

By some women of Your valor;

My heart, with grace, has been re-clutched,

For those exuding with much honor;

I don’t know why You’d let me see this;

I already know You’re good;

Do You wish to make my heart break with bliss?

Did it happen with You hanging on some wood?

O, Lord, I clearly see Your majesty,

In the most feminine of traits;

They are truly raised from carnal travesty,

To be taken through the pearly gates;

Noble1 is she who bears a joy divine,

Radiating from Your courts above;

She has seen how You are kind,

Rejoicing in Your love;

Samplette seems a lady o’ grace,

Revealed through her many writes;

She must write, seeing Your face;

Yes, she keeps You in her sights;

Pattyann holds Your gentle spirit,

I sense the kindness speaks of You;

Sure she blesses those coming near it,

To provoke praise; You’re so true;

Glenda seems to bask in virtue,

Given by Your gracious hand;

It glows alone with holy hue,

At does such by Your command;

Behold MamaB, of heavenly poise,

The essence that speaks of Christ;

Borne because she’s one of Your choice,

That she’d enjoy the Life;

Molassis is Your holy dove,

Wrought with wings of gold;

Declaring how to be borne above,

With truths borne from days o’ old;

Behold some facets of the Prince;

Give glory to the Royal Jewel;

This, His work, from the cross, since;

Gladly, each His tool;

Bless them, keep them, Lord,

In Your precious hand;

Protect them from the demon horde,

They seek to heed Your command;

Holy Father, please make Your love,

Their deep and great persuasion;

They are not separated from Jesus above,

Regardless of the situation;

I see, Lord, Your magnanimous will,

Your glory in their existence;

Before them, by You, I am so still,

And gladly such, in an instance.

Sister Gifts by TheM0of

© Bob Barra, 4-4-06

My heart delightfully swells

With an untamed joy;

Basking in Your gracious dells;

I am my Father’s boy;

But it is not seen

Simply by faith’s heart;

My sisters are Your gleam;

Their spirit’s Your fruit cart;

Thank You, Lord, for their place,

E’er in my loathsome soul;

I found them as they ran their race;

Their praise is Your stole;

May Your extolling be magnanimous,

As they move in You;

May they sing You as most gracious,

For this is Your due.

For Pattyanne, Mamabekaboo, Samplette, Glenda, Noble1, ShelleyA, and Molassis. I think I got them all. LOL!

From Mamabekaboo:

His Bride is a contest Guru,

Follows every rule right on through.

Better not bad attitude show,

No trophies to that sort will go...

*In the real world:

I Believe

(c) Glenda L. Shank

I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord

and that I cannot use that belief

to hurt or put down others.

I believe that America

is the greatest country on earth

and others have the constitutional right

not to agree with me.

I believe the things that were done to me

when I was just a child

are not my fault

and don't have to control my life anymore.

I believe that forgiveness

is the foundation for love

and love is the foundation

for life.

I believe that I am a survivor

and not a victim

and it is my responsibility

to help others see that truth

about themselves.

I believe that knowledge

is the key to faith

and faith is the key to knowledge.

I believe in me

and you

and our ability

to be more--together

My quotes on poetry and writing:

Now for the poet, he affirms nothing, and therefore never lieth. - Sir Philip Sidney

The measure in English heroic verse without rhyme, as that of Homer in Greek and Virgil in Latin; rhyme being no necessary adjunct or true ornament of a poem or good verse, in longer works especially, but the invention of a barbarous age, to set off wretched matter and lame meter;... John Milton in Paradise Lost

This neglect then of rhyme so little is to be taken for a defect, though it may seem to perhaps to vulgar readers, that it rather is to be esteemed an example set, the first in English, of ancient liberty recovered to a heroic poem from the trobulesome and modern bondage of rhyming. John Milton-- Paradise Lost.

Unhappy that I am, I cannot heave

My heart into my mouth.

Cordelia to her father King Lear in Shakespeare's King Lear.
