Ever since I could write coherent sentences, I've written poetry. Even as a youngin' in kindergarten/daycare. No seriously.
Of course, it sucked to no end. But that's not the point. XD
Poetry is a way of getting across ideas, emotions, your past, your mindset. It's a way of relieving yourself of sadness, anger, worry. Putting something down on paper is like breaking down the wall of a dam, just before it overflows. I've always found it calming to sit down and write out what I'm thinking.
The majority of what I write is lyrical. In fact, a lot of them time, when I'm alone, I start singing and making up lyrics as I go. It's just how I express my feelings.
Hmmmmm... I don't believe I'm that good at writing poetry...
But I have people who tell me otherwise, sooo... I guess I'm ok. I've definitely been improving as time goes on.
I've never felt as flawless
as when your hand is on my skin.
My imperfections disappear
when your lips touch mine.
Just us two, entwined
together
and perfect.
