From a poem by Blueskywonder:
Don't be a reaction to suffering, bring to the world your smile.

My new prayer. Thanks, Jeannie D. for the first line,
from one of your poems:

My priorities must be aligned with what matters most
Please help me, Dear Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

I am a 56 year old woman who resides in New England,
which is in the Northeastern region of the US.
I am married and have one son.
I write poetry, song lyrics and occasional prose.
I belong to a couple of writer's groups outside of Allpoetry.
creating simple jewelry and knitting are among my newest interests,
and my passion for gardening /playing with dirt has returned.
I also enjoy treasure hunting at Goodwill, a second-hand store.
It's my latest "retail therapy".

I hold a BFA in Graphic Design.
I worked for twelve years in the field of digital type design
and hinting technologies.
I occasionally freelance as a graphic designer
(emphasis on free, lol) and have designed
a line of greeting cards with my verse,
scripture verses and photographic images,
many of which I've photographed and edited.
I have shown them to family and friends,
have sold a few, and have gotten an overall good response.

I have accounts on both facebook and deviantART.
My name on my deviantART account is JJPoatree.

I joined the graphics groups here on AP
and have learned how to design borders and backgrounds.
It is totally addicting, especially if you like art
or design. Please check out my borders,
backgrounds and graphics lists her on my author's page.
Feel free to use any from the first list here,
or anything from my Snag a Tag list.

I suffer from fibromyalgia, sleep apnea, clinical depression
and generalized anxiety. I have taken steps to improve

this part of my life.

I am also a breast cancer survivor.

My poetry rules:
1. Less is more.
2. Show, don't tell.
3. Poetry is a deep, complex craft. I have barely scratched the surface. so...
4. Learn, baby, learn!

Jeff Newbury is a poet, musician, teacher, husband and father.
This is one of Jeff's "unwritten poetry rules" which I think is a true gem:

Tune the lines like strings. I read every line aloud, rearranging syntax & replacing words until it sounds right to my ear, just like tuning a guitar.

I found his "rule" at this site: http://wordcage.blogspot.com/

Diane is my closest friend on AP.
She is a gifted poet and a humble servant of God,
as well as a doting Mom and Grandmom,
her husband's delight, and a loyal, loving friend.

Diane wrote this poem about our friendship.
I couldn't be more pleased!

Freed by Mercy

Despite my failings
her friendship is unfailing;
She knows my tender aches
and speaks in Epsom salts;
We laugh together,
startling butterflies to dance!

She creates beauty,
sharing bouquets from her heart
through her fingers.

A delightful friend with whom to
lament laundry in Latin,
giggle at goof-ups,
focus on family.

She spell-checks my poetry
and reality-checks me!

Together finding forgiveness,
relying on repentance,
glorifying God,
searching by the lamp
of the Spirit,
rejoicing to be
Freed by Mercy!

Diane also posted this birthday greeting on July 25, 2011:

Happy, Happy Birthday from the West,
Wishing you a year that's sweetly blessed!
May love abide,
and tears camp far away -
Are what I'm wishing Joyce
this natal day!

May you have a wonderful day with friends and family,

and a great year ahead, dear Joyce!

with love and hugs,
Diane

My wonderful, generous, loving, brave,
talented and inspiring Allpoetry sisters.
Each faces adversity in her life;
courageously confronting storms of pain,
stroking gracefully through calm waters,
thankful for sun-kissed days.I love you all!

Love Will See Us Through
by Tory (PassionsPromise)

(dedicated to Freed By Mercy)

Upon the mantle of an old fireplace,
a picture perfect painting of us.
As words recover and ink went dry,
we enjoy the memories of love's grace.

Of long ago, when vows were made,
for better or worse we'll fight.
To keep all the promises back then
as we overcome burdens in life.

Within your arms I remained cherished,
whether or not the storm battles in.
Two precious hearts have never perished,
no matter the sorrows given...

Love will see us through....

Tory also dedicated this poem to me.
I was so touched when I read it, and so grateful.

My sister Debilynn sent me this link less than 10 minutes
after Tory sent hers. It is another poem dedicated to me!
I almost fell off my chair! I've been feeling so discouraged.
These two poems really lifted me up.

I think God is trying to tell me something...

Debilynn wrote me another poem:

Griswold
Scott is my AP brother-in-law and Tory's ap husband.
He is funny, upright, passionate about life
and very prolific on AP in both poetry and design.
http://allpoetry.com/Griswold

Paulcreates
Paul is my new AP brother. We met while submitting poetry and assisting with the first "On Viewless Wings" Anthology. Paul is generous with his time; willing to help another hurting soul (thank you) through prayer and active listening, or take on a task which needs to be done. We are the same age! Paul shared a saying with me which is so sad but so true: Hurt people hurt people.
Check out his fine poetry at:

My AP daughter is SunDew .
I am thrilled to welcome her to my family!
She is very pretty, and was born the same year
I was married. She just gave birth to a beautiful
baby boy named Dewey! Does that make me an AP Grandma?
Her author page is

I am honored to add 2 nephews to my Allpoetry family;
Harnannen and Arkbear.

Harnannen
is a very talented graphic designer and poet.
and has a bright future ahead of him.
He was a guest on Maya Angelou's radio program
on XM radio, "Oprah and Friend's" channel;
Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 4 pm Eastern time.

I am so proud of you, Zach!

Arkbear
Bear is among the most dedicated members on this sight.
He heads numerous groups along wit the PO' contest series,
which he created, and are very popular on AP.
He has expanded this series to include contests for stories (SO).

My niece is SomeoneBearyDear .
She is an intense and intelligent person
with deep beliefs and a fascinating past.
She changes her username often.
Her username is current as of July, 28, 2009.
Check her out at:
