I have realized with age and wisdom, that justice and morality do not always prevail.... yet we must always save hope, hold tight to our dreams and make some of those dreams reality.
My poetry tends to come from life experiences. That is where my passion lies... in the journey. I am the mother of 2 wonderful children: a son - Corbett Lee, who passed away on October 22, 2004 and a daughter 13 yrs - Kelsey Lynn. My son left me 3 beautiful grandsons:
Seth Ashton (10 yrs) and twin grandsons: Logan Elijah and Camron Skylar (5 yrs old)
FranticFad introduced me to this website. He is a very talented poet and an amazingly creative artist. Another AWESOME poet is AngelEyes323. Love ya Kathy ! Please take time to read both.

I did not write this poem. I have it on a bookmark and the author is not listed. It really touched my heart. In fact, My daugther-in-law had it engraved on my son's memorial. Anyway, by no means am I taking credit for this piece, I just wanted to share.
THE BROKEN CHAIN
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
you did not go alone:
for part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide:
and though we cannot see you,
you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same,
but as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.
