Hello, My name is Holly. My poems are mostly written when i'm depressed or pissed off or somthing is worrying me.
"
We take His name out of schools.
The lawyers say it breaks the rules.
Pledge of allegiance can't be writ,
An' under God, should not be said.
I wonder how He will take.
I just pray it's not too late.
What if God quit tryin',
He just turned away?
There were teardrops on his face?
Tell me, how would you feel?
You'd probably give up too,
If nobody believed in you"
Hello God, it's me again. 2:00 a.m., Room 304.
Visiting hours are over, time for our bedside tug of war.
This sleeping child between us may not make it through the night.
I'm fighting back the tears as she fights for her life.
Well, it must be kind of crowded,
On the streets of Heaven.
So tell me: what do you need her for?
Don't you know one day she'll be your little girl forever.
But right now I need her so much more.
She's much too young to be on her own:
Barely just turned seven.
So who will hold her hand when she crosses the streets of Heaven?
Tell me God, do you remember the wishes that she made,
As she blew out the candles on her last birthday cake?
She wants to ride a pony when she'd big enough.
She wants to marry her Daddy when she's all grown up.
Lord, don't you know she's my angel
You got plenty of your own
And I know you hold a place for her
But she's already got a home
Well I don't know if you're listenin'
But praying is all that's left to do
So I ask you Lord have mercy, you lost a son once too
And it must be kind of crowded,
On the streets of Heaven.
So tell me: what do you need her for?
Don't you know one day she'll be your little girl forever.
But right now I need her so much more.
Lord, I know once you've made up your mind,
There's no use in beggin'.
So if you take her with you today, will you make sure she looks both ways,
And would you hold her hand when she crosses the streets of Heaven.
The streets of Heaven.
It's the principle
it's the issue that your principal would dismiss you.
Because you don't fit into that all-American Box.
That coffin created for creative thought.
It's disgusting his priorities
And how we're entrusting him with authority.
His gavel's gone down before he looked in your
heart. He finished this race(ism) before he reached the start.
Jesus loved the outcasts.
He loves the ones the world just loves to hate.
And as long as there's a heaven, there'll be a failure to
excommunicate.
The world just keeps you at an arm's length.
Every week you work up the strength to fight the flames that are
hurled.
Let your faith shine right through.
You know it's the world
versus Jesus and you. It's disgusting, their priorities.
And how we're entrusting them with
authority.
Their gavel's gone down before they looked in your heart.
They finished this race(ism).
^Some of my christian songs.
I hope you like my poetry.

skreaminsosound on July 25, 2004You will only find the origin of the name Acadia, because Acadia is a place...not necessarily with a meaning. So the only definition your name really has is the origin...there might be a little-known definition, but I haven't seen it.

Acadia on April 20, 2004Thankx, I love my name but I like the name Holly a lot. It was my sister's name. I'm really 15 but I wanted to read other poems, too. I love Linkin Park. They are so awsome. I just love there music. Easier to run is one of my favorite songs.
Glad you liked my poem, I am going to read yours as soon as I am done with this.
~Acadia~
p.s
I have never even heard of someone else with the name Acadia. That is so very cool. I don't feel so alone. Do you know what it means? I have a baby book with my name in it but it only talks about the origin and not the meaning. If you find out the meaning let me know, please. Also, my middle name is Tru.
