How does one describe themself? Why do I find this so hard? Perhaps that's why I write poetry. I suppose I can't really tell you. I have to show you. Me talking (or in this case writing) is a form of communication. I have to translate my thoughts into words, then arrange them (using letters) into something everyone can understand. I seem to be going particularily slow today. But with poetry, on the other hand... No translation is needed. I just write how I think (sort've) or I write in the universal structre of poetry, which better captures thoughts and ideas.

Anyways, enough about me, lets talk about me! (By the way did I mention I'm the most humble person in the world! jj. ) I used to be known as Sparky25, but since I have come back to the site after a short abscence, I decided a change was in order. I've been doing poetry officially for, let's see... a couple of years. Unofficially, in my head, well from the moment I started thinking, I suppose. I don't think I have very many poems that are really spectacular... most of the ones on here are just me experimenting with different styles. I still haven't found a comfortable way of writing that suits me. In alot of ways, I'm still learning, but I enjoy it. Feel free to read a few of my poems, hope you enjoy them.

Enjoy,
Steve

Don't knock your poetry, please! I've read some of it, and it's good. It may not be perfect as far as rhyme, rhythm, alliteration, and what-not; but it's from your heart, and that's what makes poetry poetry.

Perhaps you'd like to try more free verse? It is often just as expressively poetic as rhyme and meter, sometimes even more effective. And you can focus more on word choice and expression.

Your heart comes out in your writing. Keep writing for Him.

No problem. It's my pleasure. If God has given me the ability to help people with their problems and listen, then I figure hey, why not use it? I see this group as a place to do ministry, an opportunity to reach out to those who are hurting, or whom there are many...

Be encouraged by the fact that I've got people praying for your group, and the people in it.

    God bless,

I'd like to thank you for becoming involved in my group, A Sanctuary for the Lost Alone Dark or Depressed, we need many people like you. I want to help them all but some seem so unwilling to listen. Anyway I'm really grateful for your help.
