I've been writing off and on for about eight years. There is a season for everything and there are times when I am on and I am producing poem after poem and then there are times when I can't write anything. I give all the credit to God because he made it all possible. I could always write, but I never thought I could be a writer. Until that one day in school in 1998 when I was sitting down in class writing a poem for a class project. I spend the span of an hour and when it was all done with it that was what birthed my poetry, but while I was writing that poem, I could literally feel God breathing life and peicing together word for word that poem. I still have that poem and it holds a special place in my heart still. It really brought out everything that I was going through at that time and where I was going to be.
My poetry is very unique in the way that I don't rhyme like most poets. I have been classed as kind of like a "spoken word" type poet where everything just comes together and matches with some funky flow then in the midst of that you call it poetry I guess. I have felt myself get better and better each time when I stop and start up again and I know that I'm not done yet, in fact I think that it is safe to say that I'm just getting started. I hope that I can do more.
When I write, I often start with a phrase or a word, often times from God. I just hope that I have a pen and paper with me when it hits. It sometimes might stir up within me for days or even weeks or even months before I finally get it, but when it comes I write and let everything come together.
The subjects of my poems very. Sometimes they are about love and romance and about finding that special God appointed special someone. I like to think that when this happens that I try to write more than your "typical love poems" such as "Roses are red, violets of blue" sort of thing. Other times I will write spiritual or christian based poetry that often speak of my relationship with God or where I am at at a certain time.
I very rarely write about "dark poetry" where I was so depressed, except once and I keep that to help me see where I was and it reminds me of where I am at now, and hopefully where I am going. If I do start out with a dark poem, it usually has signs of hope by the end of it. But only one poem remained dark and even ended sadly when I had finished.
I hope that as you read my poetry, you will get a sense of my heart and where I was and you will see a new and fresh origional peice of work that will in turn motivate and even enpower you to reach beyond where you are at now. I hope that as you all help me to become a better writer and all around better person, I trust that in turn my poetry and who I am will bring out the best in you and make you stronger or better because of it.
Thank you for your time and please I encourage truly honest thoughtful and considerate feedback. Try not to give me the usual "Oh that's good" But literally give me positives and negatives (things that I need to work on) push me to another level as I aim to do the same for you.
Thank you for your time. Anything else please feel free contact and talk to me.

My Poetry
-
The Father turns away
as His son's life fades -
By my tears
You melt away my tears -
Heave hoe
Heave out -
Extract the insanity from your membranes
Take a step back from you chaos
